Essential coats for every woman's wardrobe

Coats are often the most expensive item in a woman's closet, and with good reason. A sturdy, long-lasting coat may be
one of the most important fashion investments you'll make, and should ideally last you several years. However, depending on
where you live, it's advisable to have a small selection of coats that suit different seasons. Here's a quick guide to
essential coats every woman should have in their wardrobe. Perhaps the most important essential coat to have in your
wardrobe is a winter coat. Winter coats come in a variety of shapes and styles, but should always be warm. Most winter coats
are made from wool, which will keep your body warm and provide protection from rain. The actual style of your coat, however,
should be dictated partly by practicality, partly by your body shape and partly by fashion. So, if you've got a large
bust, choose a coat that doesn't button up too high around your neck. If you have a smaller chest you should opt for a
double-breasted variant. Shorter women often look better in coats which end at the waist since they won't swamp their figure
in fabric, while taller women may prefer longer coats which flatter their height. Whatever your shape, choose a coat that
looks on trend but won't date quickly, e.g. a belted wool mac or a pea coat with a fur collar is likely to wear better over
the years than an orange tweed cowl-neck coat. Canada Goose 6550L However, while coats are most important in winter, this is not the only
season in which they are necessary. Summer jackets are also important as the weather is not always great in this season. For
a classic summer coat, choose a short, thin jacket in a bright colour which will go equally well with jeans and a summer
dress. A hood can also be useful during the summer months, particularly if you'll be in an area prone to sudden showers.
Also, if you opt for a coat in a thin, malleable material, it'll be easier to fold up and place in your handbag when the sun
is out in full force. The unpredictable weather that often arrives in autumn and spring makes a stylish raincoat a
necessity for your wardrobe. For most women this is an easy choice: for over 100 years, the trenchcoat has been a wardrobe
staple, since it's a practical raincoat as well as being eternally fashionable. However, if the design of a trenchcoat
doesn't appeal, there are other choices. A parka with a fur-lined hood provides effective protection from rain while still
being stylish, and a fleece-lined waterproof jacket is ideal for women who love outdoor pursuits. Finally, round off your
essential collection of women's coats with a dress coat. This should be a versatile piece of outerwear that you can wear on a
night out or for a formal occasion at any time of year. A plain black blazer, for instance, will look great with a pair of
skinny jeans, high heels and a sequinned top. Alternatively, a long belted coat or fur jacket may be better suited to wearing
with evening dresses, and to fancier events such as weddings or cocktail parties. Dave MacKinder writes for a digital
